Morgan Johnson-Colbert 5th Place Javelin 121'
Morgan qualified in disc and javelin and nearly hit pr at the end. Her 121' is the 4th furthest at a state meet by a Demon and her season PR of 124'3" is the 4th Best since 2002. Congratulations on the fine season Morgan!

Preston Lemar 7th Place Javelin 169'1"
Preston started the season slow, and ended strong by nearly getting a PR at the last meet. Preston also ran in the 4X400 team that placed 3rd. Helping the Demons finish 3rd at State.
Morgan Fischer 6th Place Javelin 118'9"
This is the second year in a row that Cambrie has placed at state. She also ran in the place winning 400 and 800 Relay teams. Her 118'9" is the 5th best State throw by a Demon and 6th best all time! Great Season Cambrie!
Raya is the first girl since 2019 to qualify in all three throwing events. She had a solid junior year and was able to help the Demon Girls finish 3rd in State.

2021 STATE PLACERSBrady Bauman 7th Discus 146'5"
Brady has been throwing for the Demons since 9th Grade. He had a tremendous season. He placed in every meet in disc and his season best in shot shot was 53'9" and 156'3" in discus. He will be throwing for Northern State. We wish Brady the Best of luck! Ethan Stotz 8th Javelin 161'4" and 5th High Jump 6'
Ethan improved throughout the year and he hit his PR at State in both events. He improved almost 40 feet from his first meet of the year to state. He consistently placed in the jumps and was peeking at the right time of the season. Great Effort Ethan! Kaylynn Red Tomahawk Discus 6th 120'9"
Kaylynn consistently placed in every meet this season. She placed as a 9th grader and had a solid disc performance. During the season Kaylynn's shot put throw of 36'5" is 10th best Junior Throw at BHS and 126' which is the 7th Best throw ever at BHS. 2020 State PlacersThe season was lost due to the Covid Pandemic: The following athletes lost their last season at Bismarck High:

Morgan has placed in shot for a third straight season. She put more effort into the season and it paid off at the State meet with a personal record throw. She also qualified in discus by improving over 20 feet from the year before. Outstanding Season Morgan! Nicole Perkins 2nd Javelin 123'5"
Nicole was the first girl since Camari McCarroll to qualify in all three throwing events. She was injured at the beginning of the season and got healthy when it mattered the most, State. Congratulations on the outstanding season Nicole! Chase Dockter 3rd Shot Put 52'5"
Chase struggled late in the season and had a very solid State Meet with all his throws being over 52'. He is the first Demon since Alex Granfor to be a State Champion Football Player, State Champion wrestler and a state placer at Track for the Demons. Dalton Gullickson 5th Discus 150'3" and 7th Shot Put 48'9.5"
Dalton consistently placed in every meet in Discus and came on strong in shot towards the end of the 2019 season. He hit a PR in the disc despite the rain, congratulations on a fine season Dalton! Kaylynn Red Tomahawk 6th Discus 108'5"
Kaylynn is in her 2nd year of throwing and placed 6th at the State Track Meet. She qualified late in the year and was one of our most consistent girls throwing over 100 feet. McKenna Shelkey 7th Discus 107'7"
McKenna placed 7th in disc and set a personal record in shot throwing 38'2.75". She battled through injuries during the season and competed and a high level at State. Great Job McKenna! 2018 STATE PLACERSJared Rath 5th Shot Put 52' and 5th Discus 146'9"
Jared placed 5th in both events, he was one of the hardest working and one of most intense competitors I have ever coached. Congratulations on the fine season Jared. Zack Kuhn 3rd Javelin 168'7"
Zack came very close to qualifying last year. He started the year strong and than battled though some injuries. He came through as a Demon at the State Meet and placed 3rd. Demi Lorinser 6th Shot Put 36'4.5"
Demi threw for the Demons as a sophomore, but had to stop because of injuries. She came back out her senior year with two goals being to qualify and place at state. She did just that. She was one of the hardest workers we had in our Demon program. Congratulations Demi! Chase Dockter 3rd Shot Put 52'8.5"
This is the second year of high school track for Chase. He improved by over six feet from last year. Chase had a great football a season and was a state champion in wrestling. Thanks for the great season Chase! Dalton Gullickson 6th Discus 146'6"
Last season Dalton finished 9th in WDA, this season he qualified for state and matched his PR at state. He has put in a lot of time in the weightroom and it showed in the field events. Congratulations Dalton! McKenna Shelkey 2nd Shot Put 37'1"
McKenna started the year of slowly but made some great strides at the end of the year. She narrowly missed out qualifying in the disc, but shot she improved a lot!. She sitting in 4th going into her last throw at state. Once she realized she had to get over 37' to place second, she smiled and new she could do it. Her last throw was 37'1" which got her second. Congratulations McKenna! Morgan Ohlhauser 7th Shot Put 35'10"
Morgan had a very solid year this season. She placed in nearly every meet. Despite having an off day she continued to compete. With her placement it was the first time since 2011 that we had three Demons place in shot at state. Congratulations Morgan! 2017 State PlacersKatie German 2nd Discus 133'8"
Katie German has qualified for state the last three years. She started the season strong. She struggled after Howard Wood meet in South Dakota, but at State she threw very well. It took her third throw to make finals and she placed 2nd on her last throw of the day. Thank you Katie for all your hard work and dedication in our Demon throwing program. |
